Hosted by Tony Schivanoe, Bobby Heenan, and Larry Zybyzsko 3 HOURS A new TV Champion is crowned. After filling in for an injured Disco Inferno earlier in the night (See match results.), Rick Martel returned later in the program to take on Booker T. Although the Canadian superstar suffered a loss to Saturn in his previous outing, external circumstances (see match results) afforded Martel the win and the strap. Since the win directly effected Booker T and Saturn's Superbrawl title match, commissioner JJ Dillon made an unprecedented decision concerning the event: Martel would have to face Booker T at the SuperBrawl Pay-Per-View this Sunday and the winner would face Saturn later in the same night. In other Nitro action, Bret Hart made his return to WCW to call out Hollywood Hogan. Showing no fear towards the icon, Hart used his interview time to challenge the words of the NWO godfather. Standing in Hart's background, newcomer and longtime Hart ally, Brian Adams, who claimed to be friends with the international superstar. However, when the NWO-- angry at the harsh words laid upon their leader-- charged the ring, Adams held the Canadian down. Then, as the Wolfpack attacked, Adams watched, then opened his trenchcoat to reveal an NWO T-shirt underneath. As Hart was held, helpless, Hollywood Hogan took to the ring and laid punch after punch upon the Canadian. Making the save for Hart: Ric Flair. Charging center stage, the Nature Boy wreaked havoc with low blows and chops. Then, with Hart back on his feet, the two recent opponents cleared the ring of the entire NWO contingent, then stood side by side in the ring, wary but obviously respecting each other. | ||||||||||||||||
